how long does it take?

Most straightforward returns are completed within 5-7 business days once we have everything. Complex returns (business, rentals, multiple states) may take longer. We'll give you a timeline up front and keep you updated on the status every step of the way.

what is an enrolled agent?

An Enrolled Agent (EA) is a federally licensed tax professional who specializes in taxation and is authorized to represent taxpayers before the IRS in all 50 states. It’s the highest credential the IRS awards.  EAs focus exclusively on tax. CPAs and attorneys have broader scopes (accounting or law).  All three can represent you before the IRS, but EAs are tax specialists.

is the portal secure?

Yes. TaxDome uses encrypted transfer and storage, multi-factor authentication, and bank-level security. We also follow a written information security program (WISP) consistent with the FTC Safeguards Rule for tax professionals.  Only you, me, and my team can see your data in the portal. We don’t share client data without your written permission, except as required by law.

what happens during a tax planning check-in?

We review your year to date (at mid-year and/or end-of-year), run “what-if” scenarios, adjust withholdings or estimates, and create a short action list so April is calmer and you know just what to expect.

what's included in the financial coaching session?

A 60-minute session focused on practical, tax-smart money habits: budget/cash-flow tune-ups, debt-payoff strategy, savings goals, and timing decisions that may affect taxes. (Education-first coaching; no investment advice.)

I got an irs letter! what should i do?

Don’t panic. Upload the letter to the portal or contact us. We'll review it, explain what it means, and outline next steps.

what if I can't get everything in by april 15?

We can file an extension to move the filing deadline, but you still need to pay any estimated tax due by the original deadline to avoid penalties. We can help you estimate.

can you fix a mistake after filing?

Absolutely.  If something was missed or changed, we can file an amended return. We'll advise whether it’s necessary and beneficial.
